Hi, thank you for visiting my page. It started off as a blog into one mums journey into the world of riding lessons and has evolved to include a few random musings and some (hopefully) relevant reviews.
I’m Sara and as a child I had ponies and used to compete up until my early twenties, then university and life got in the way and the horses took a bit of a back seat. Fast forward 10 years and in 2002 my husband to be and I left our jobs in London and moved to the Yorkshire Wolds. I began riding again and finally qualified as a BHS Riding Instructor. To my horror the world of horses had changed dramatically. There used to be around 3 or 4 brands of jodhpurs to choose from, colour choice was beige, brown, navy, white or canary (The last two were mainly for those showing types). Riding boots were rubber or rubber with a leather top if you were serious or posh or seriously posh, leather boots were for professionals. Now jodhpurs come in every conceivable colour, riding boots are leather or short boots and half chaps and all can come blinged up with diamonte!

Having qualified to teach I decided that I still loved my main job as an Events Manager more than teaching, so I kept it as a sideline until Maisie was born in 2010, then I gave up as I just didn’t have the time. Maisie is now 7 and is desperate to ride, if I am honest I am not sure I want her to as riding took up so much of my time when I was a child that I missed out on a lot of things. But here we are on the beginning of our journey, hopefully it will be entertaining and a little informative.
